Otto Township was originally

named Ottowa or

Ottoway Township in 1840, then renamed Otto Township in 1860,

as noted on a sign over the

Township Hall’s front door.

is terrestrial and 0.1 square miles

which is covered by water.

 

The township is in the lower

southeast part of

Oceana County, which is in

central-western Michigan.
